Christmas tree recycling 2018 – here’s all the info

So, you’ve got a real Christmas tree, it’s time to take it down and get rid of it – here’s a handy guide on how to recycle your real Christmas tree.

Darlington

Darlington Borough Council aren’t running a Christmas tree recycling scheme this year, but you can take your tree to the Household Waste Recycling Facility on Whessoe Road.

Alternatively volunteers from Darlington Rotary Club can collect and get rid of your tree for a £5 donation to St Teresa’s Hospice.

Hartlepool

These can be disposed of at the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Burn Road from Wednesday 27th December.

Alternatively Hartlepool Council are offering a FREE collection service for trees from the 8th January, which must be booked online at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/christmas-trees or telephone 01429 523333.

Middlesbrough

For a small donation Teesside Hospice are offering a Christmas tree collection service between the 5th and 7th January.  Their volunteers will collect your tree and arrange for it to be recycled and used to build a path in Stewart Park.  This must be booked online at www.charityxmastreecollection.com or by calling 01642 811150.

Middlesbrough Council will be collecting Christmas trees from Tuesday 8th January to Friday 11th January on your normal refuse collection day.

 

Redcar and Cleveland

There will be no Christmas tree recycling collections this year, but they can be recycled at Dunsdale Household Waste Recycling Centre.
