Dobbo Dines @ Reds True BBQ

We decided to go on another road trip in the search of more delicious food! We heard that not to long ago Reds True Bbq had opened up at Eldon Square in Newcastle upon Tyne, so obviously we had to go.

If you’ve heard of Reds then you know about Burnt Ends, and if you don’t then you’re about to. After almost drooling over the menu we decided to have a couple of choices we started with obviously a large serving of Burnt Ends along with a Pit Burger and we had to try the Donut Burger too, we added a couple of Mac & Cheese balls also.

We will start with the Burnt Ends, we chose a large bowl which was priced at £10.95 Burnt Ends are perfect little nuggets of Brisket ‘point’ smothered in an absolutely delectable sauce and triple smoked for 16 hours until utterly mouth-watering. In a large bowl it weighs 250g and we had roughly 10-12 little chunks of heaven. If you go here you MUST try these.

We then had the Pit Burger priced at £16.95 and consisted of Two delicious patties, A huge amount of extremely tender Black Angus brisket, Red’s pulled pork, smoked peppered bacon, melted cheese, Dirty sauce, tomato, onion, pickles and lettuce. This was served topped with a large onion ring and a bowl of fries. This burger is for the meat lovers, the amazing tastes, textures and flavours from all the meats then the cheese and sauce just popping makes for me personally the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The Brisket is smoked for 12 hours and is the pride of a bbq joint and you can see why. The pulled pork is slowly smoked for 14 hours then pulled and mixed with their own secret spices to give you that amazing flavour.

We moved on to our Mac & Cheese balls these quite large ball of beautifully cooked Mac & cheese rolled and deep fried in a nacho crumb ball and make for a great addition especially priced at just £1 a ball or £4.95 a serving.

Last but certainly not least we had our Donut Burger priced at £12.95 and consisted of Two patties, melted cheese, smoked peppered bacon, crispy onions and Dirty sauce. All between two sweet glazed donuts. This came served with 2 frickles (fried pickles), similar to the last burger this had the delicious burgers bacon and sauce but then you get the sweet softness of the glazed donuts putting your taste buds in a whirlwind of greatness.

Overall we have decided to convert our religions and join the church of meat at Reds True BBQ and we will be going back to church very very soon to try more of that menu and of course….BURNT ENDS.

We didn’t even mention their selection of sauces but wow they’re all flawless too!
