The Prickly Pear Bistro Review

Recently we visited a little hidden gem! Tucked away inside the TAD centre on Ormesby road next to Morrison’s.

The Prickly Pear Bistro boasts stunning decor as soon as you walk in, you’d never think you’re sat inside the TAD centre where I’ve previously been for a speed awareness course 😂👀 anyway…, on the menu they have a shockingly delicious looking parmo menu with 35 options! They also do 3 different platters. Obviously I had to get a platter, other than just being greedy I wanted to sample the other Parmos on offer. I will talk about them later but obviously this review is based just on the gold standard, 100m dash, original parmo.

With us getting a platter this meant each parmo was about a 1/4, the presentation was impeccable. This Came served on a board with salad and chips in separate bowls along with plates for us.

The chicken was cooked lovely, very flavoursome and juicy. This was covered in quality breadcrumbs and then topped with a tasty bechemal sauce, personally I like my bech abit more creamy but this was still very nice. And finally topped with a quality cheddar and grilled well.

The other Parmo toppings on our platter were Bolognese, hotshot, Garilc & herb butter and a bacon bbq. They all have fancy names but that’s essentially what they are, other than the original my personal faves were the hotshot and the bacon bbq. I’ll happily go back and try the rest 😍

Overall we were quite pleased with our Parmos  and would recommend you give this place a try yourself.

The Prickly Pear Bistro 8.3, that’s a review.
