Cafe Istanbul review

After a short break due to the birth of my daughter ? and then an internal problem with the server, we are back in action, we recently visited Cafe Istanbul in Ennis Square Dormanstown.

We saw their menu and found the mixed special kebab was sounding very interesting so we thought we would give it a try.

The Special mixed kebab is priced at £9.90 and comes with their special chicken doner, beef doner, chicken skewer and a lamb skewer. This also comes served with a bread portion, side salad, a small garlic and a small chilli. We also added a portion of chips as this place sprinkles them with chip spice.

This selection of meat was cooked absolutely amazingly, the chicken doner is marinated in a phenomenal spice that is delicious on its own, along with beef doner kebab which is a a fantastic change to the standard kebab meat on offer in most places. The skewered chicken was cooked to perfection and had peppers and onions cooked on the skewer also which in turn were divine. Then we moved onto the skewered lamb pieces which were again cooked fantastically and so full of flavour. The bread portions are just amazing too, it’s not a wrap or a naan or even a pitta but it’s the perfect addition to the meat.

Overall we were more than happy with our food and our first review since being back, we feel cafe Istanbul deserves a lot of praise and a highly recommended 5 stars from us.
