Cleveland Police has closed Westbourne Road in Hartlepool due to an ongoing policing incident.
Officers from Cleveland Police Road Policing Unit have closed both ends of the road with a police van parked on the Road.
Police have been on the scene since 6pm. The Road is expected to be closed for some time.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area, there may be a slight delays to traffic heading along Stockton Road.
Three police units initially attended the scene.
